Flowers and quilts

I wanted to show the flowers that I got for the walls in the girls' rooms. They came from Hobby Lobby and they are so cute.

These are K's. They are made out of wire and paper and they came from the garden section. I love them.

Can you see how well they match the bedding? The dark pink looks almost red in this light but it isn't.

And B's. They are a bit dark for her bedding, but we like them anyway.

And I finally got a Christmas present that L ordered back in November. It is a quilt ladder. It is oak and it is 3 feet wide. I really like it. It took me forever to fold the quilts to get them to fit and then I moved the ladder so now I need to fix them again. I am sure I will move the quilts around several times before I find the right order but here it is for now...

K's arm

I forgot to let the world know (haha) that K went to the doctor Monday and the arm is all better. He took off the sling and splint and all is fine. No follow up x-rays or anything. She is very happy to have the use of her arm again. She is saving the splint and sling to show Daddy when he comes home.

Again, I have to say I am SO thankful to God for taking such good care of us all. We are very blessed to have had no accidents before. With this incident, it could have been worse--and I don't just mean broken. I am so thankful that we did not have to take that trip to the ER until the next day. The ER at 8pm on a school night with 3 kids would have been a nightmare! It is tough being alone with no family around-- but we are very very blessed. A time when there was no one to help, we didn't need the help. At so many other times, God has blessed us with great neighbors to help when L was gone. GOD IS GOOD--ALL THE TIME :)

What happens when you don't listen to mom...

Mommy ALWAYS says don't run in the house. Mommy also says pick up your toys, don't leave your stuff in the floor! And what happens when you don't listen? Usually mom just yells again and that's it. BUT here is the REASON she says all those things.....

Last night K was running to her room and she slipped on a book that was in the floor and fell down, landing on a doll house chair. It hurt pretty bad but she could move it and she stopped crying after a few minutes. But she had a hard time sleeping. This morning I took her to the ER. It isn't broken. It is swollen and it still hurts. So now she has a splint and a sling. Until Monday, and then we go see the pediatrician.

She is NOT happy about wearing that thing!! She cried after they put it on and she found out she couldn't take it off. She can hardly do anything by herself. I told her that means everyone has to be nice to her and help her do stuff. That helped a little. The powdered donuts I got as a treat helped too. That is powdered sugar all over the sling. I can't imagine what it will look like by Monday!!

She is fine now. See?

I thank God that this is our first injury! Over 10 years and no one has ever been to the ER for anything other than a fever or ear infection. No cuts and no broken bones. Thank you JESUS!! Hope this is our last one...how likely you think that is???

Birthday boy

I forgot to post about E's birthday. That's what happens when your birthday is 3 days before Christmas. Sorry boy. We didn't do a party. We went to the movies. He wanted to see Alvin and the chipmunks, but (thankfully) it was sold out. We had to see Enchanted, and we all liked it alot. Even though it looked like a girly movie, it wasn't.

By the time we had cake, he wasn't in a very happy mood. Tired maybe. I wondered if he was getting sick...

But when it was time for presents, he certainly perked up!

He got a video game chair with speakers in it. Very cool. Very loud.

The knife from Daddy...

And this picture has nothing to do with the birthday, it is just for you MaMaw P!
