A little update

I know I have not had much to say lately but I will try to update a little. I have also been busy. And tired. Summer is wearing me out. I am tired right now too. And have not showered yet today so I need to hurry. A bullet list seems like a good idea...

-B is in summer school until June 26. This means I am not getting to sleep late and I have to drive 50 miles a day to get her there and back. It also means E and K have gotten to have donuts in the car twice this week. What happened to healthy eating? Well at least B has been having smoothies on her way to school. The donuts are happening after we drop her off at 8am.

-K had her first sleepover this week. The friend slept here, no way would she go to someone else's house. It may be our last sleepover. It was not bad, I am just finally getting the kids to see how it is best to sleep in your own beds at night, actually sleep, and not have someone take your bed, or snore in your room. I really don't know who invented sleepovers anyway. At night, I like to sleep, really sleep. I like to go to sleep at a decent time, knowing my kids are safe in their own beds. No one here gets enough sleep as it is, sleepovers are not good in my opinion. Maybe I am a party pooper.

- We went to the pool yesterday. It was good. No major sunburns. My kids did get questioned by 2 different lifeguards for wearing shirts, which I guess are not allowed. Ours are swimming shirts (or rashguards) and are allowed. They would have to throw us out though because no way are they swimming without them. Extra SPF built in. Also modesty. I won't say anything else about that. I know I am in the minority on that one, but too bad. And, by the way I wore my rashguard too, long sleeves and mock turtle neck. I was so cute. Yeah.

- At the pool K wanted to go into the deeper part (not over her head) but she wanted me to hold onto her. Actually she wrapped herself around me like an octopus. I tried to pry her loose a little. She said "I don't trust you!" Well, I was incredibly insulted. So I asked her how could she not trust her mother, I asked her who she thinks keeps her alive every day! Without missing a beat she said "GOD!" I laughed at that and then said, "exactly right, but I help him!" She still did not seem to trust me much. But before we left she actually started going down the water slide, so she was much braver.

-Luke is on his way home. Sort of. He is NOT in Iraq anymore. We do not know for sure yet, but he should be home Monday or Tuesday. I will let you know more when I hear from him again. Praise God. Did you know he has been gone for 57.92 weeks or 405.42 days as of right now???

Stef, it's not officially summer yet! lol...a bullet list? Stef I didn't know you was into ammo. I know what you're talking about. Well so the kids had a donut, just don't let it happen again! :)
Nah, you aren't a party pooper. I never liked sleepovers that much either. I like my privacy and space. Anyway...I'll be part of the minority with ya Stef when it comes to modesty. I agree with ya on that. Good thing u are teaching them young. Keep with your convictions, even if it's weird. I'm weird like that too. If I went to the beach, I might wear a long pair of shorts, capris and maybe a tank top if it's decent or short sleeve shirt and flip flops. Sure L woulda loved seein' ya in that mock turtle neck! lol Maybe ya shoulda tried a scuba suit instead. hee hee. I always wore a long shirt and shorts when i went in a friend's pool, which wz weird to them, but i wz fatter back then than I am now and white as chalk, so i had good reasons not to wear a swim suit LOL...well i'm still white but I can always get a fake spray tan lol. MIght be allergic to that stuff though...yuck...well I'm so glad to hear about L! Wow u sure got the days down...u sound like one woman that is anxious to see her hubby. Don't blame ya!That's great news! ttyl thanks for the update. If i wz at the pool with ya, I woulda had to wear the mock turtle neck and a life jacket cuz I can't swim. hee hee Nite'

A.K.
