E had a play at school Monday night. He was a dog. He chose the character because the class helped write the play. It did not turn out as planned since out of 17 kids in his class only 6 showed up. I managed to video it with my camera but you could not hear him at all. He only had one line anyway. I am a terrible mother because I can't help but think those things are hardly worth the trouble of the 20 minute drive to get there. I am bad. But it is usually true anyway. I guess I am not all bad though, as I did go to the trouble of "making" him a costume. I am just so talented (HA HA!). I spent one dollar on felt and took one of the unused dog collars out of the building. Magic, he was a dog. I think I went to more trouble than most of the other parents though from the looks of it. I would show pictures but don't feel like editing out strange kids faces right now. Trust me, he was the cutest!! And there were 2 or 3 other classes that performed after his class, so it wasn't just those 6 kids!!
It was also the science fair. Our first one--and quite possibly our last. Thank goodness, Daddy was home to help him make a project, as I don't do that stuff very well. He did not even get an honorable mention and we don't know why. They announced the winners at the end of the evening and did not tell which projects were the winners, only the kids' names. So we do not even know how good the projects were. That was disappointing. Some were obviously done by parents, but I do not think those were winners. The contest rules were very specific that the child had to do the project himself and it must be age appropriate. E was not happy that we made him write the whole thing out and he saw that most others were printed on computers. Cheaters! LOL
