A comment

I have complained before about never getting any comments--except for Amy--thank you Amy! Today I received a comment from a stranger. He commented on my article about evolution and he left a link to his website. I visited it. He is an atheist. I did not spend much time on his site and I am not recommending anyone else who reads this go there. But would you please pray for this man? He is some kind of scientist, obviously a smart man. It is such a tragedy that he is so lost. I will be praying for this man named Todd and I hope you will too. He said he accidentally came across my site, but I do not believe it is an accident. Please pray that this man will come to know God and Jesus. He has a family, and they have lost a child sometime in the past. He does not think he needs God, but he does. Please remember this man and his family, I know-without a doubt that God wants to reach this man.

The start of summer...

I love it when they play nicely together! E is being a good big brother here. He is taking K for a ride. I think they call this one the roller coaster.

B is showing off her new handstand.

K has actually been trying to ride her bike. She is not so afraid of it now. She still has trouble making it GO! They have started going out front to the street where she can go a little downhill.

I love it when they get along so well. Now that school is out, they will get sick of each other and that will be all over with! Oh well, this was a good day anyway!

I saw my honey!

I am so excited!!! I just saw Luke! We finally got the webcam working! MSN would not work so we used yahoo and it worked no problem. Last time he was gone we had alot of webcam problems, we could never get both of us to have sound and video at the same time. Yahoo is awesome! We just tried it out for a few minutes cuz he had to go to work and his roommate (who works night shift) was trying to sleep. But it works!!!!

After the kids and I get home from church tomorrow we will try it again and the kids will finally get to see Daddy! The biggest reason I am so excited is because it is his birthday What a present! For all of us!!

It's hot

5:45 pm. It is 97 degrees. Here is what my kids are doing.

A milestone?

Well, last night I mowed the grass. If you know me very well you know what a big deal that is. I have never in my whole life mowed the grass. I know, I know that sounds bad. But that is what my husband is for. And I had brothers before that! Plus I am not an outdoor girl. And yes, lazy too.

The last time L was gone, we lived on base and we had a guy who mowed our grass every other week. That was wonderful. And well worth the 40$ we paid him. Now we are out in the middle of nowhere. If I was able to find someone to mow, it would cost a fortune. Plus we have more land this time. So I finally mowed the grass!

I am so proud of myself. I had a hard time starting the mower. I am so smart. It is a riding mower and some kind of automatic start or something so it is very easy. You just have to have the brake on when you turn the key. I had the brake and the gas pedal confused. I told you I am smart. Then every time I tried to lower the mowing deck, it started to die. I was riding the mower with the manual on my lap.

I started late because it was really hot yesterday and I did not want to be in the sun-(I sunburn in 5 minutes). So I did not finish until dark. But I looked this morning and I actually did a really good job! It looks great! Of course I got clippings all over the porch and sidewalk, my technique was really bad! If my neighbor was looking I bet he was laughing his butt off. But I did it and that is all that matters!

Weed eating is something I refuse to do though!!! I cannot handle that machine! I guess I will have to go out sometime with scissors or the clippers and get the weeds by hand!!

I am such a GIRL! A helpless girl. And I like it that way!

You should have seen me last week using the power washer to clean the back porch!! It took me a half hour to start it. I am not kidding. E kept trying to do it for me. That was funny! I really hope the neighbor wasn't looking out the window that day!!!

Shopping

When my mom and my sister were here we did ALOT of shopping. So much that they had to borrow 2 suitcases from me to get everything back home.

We went shopping in town. We went to a fair that had crafts. We went to my favorite "junk" store. We even went to Austin--well almost, right outside of Austin to Ikea and the outlet mall.

At the fair B and I got army purses. They are so cute. B got 2--one for a purse and one for a backpack. B has more purses than anyone I have even known and she is only 10. She doesn't even need a purse yet. :)

My favorite thing that I got while shopping was a dresser for K. She has not had one before. When she shared a room with B, they shared a dresser. And here she has had her clothes in plastic drawers in her closet--she has a walk in closet. Her room is so small that we figured a dresser was too big anyway. But at the "junk" store--(it is really like an indoor flea market) I found the cutest small dresser. It is solid wood, very well made and in good shape. It is very cute and fits perfectly in her room. As soon as we got home--even before I had a chance to wipe it out--she had gotten all of her clothes out and was putting them in the drawers all by herself! She is very proud of it. Me too--it was only 49$.

I'm back

Sorry I have not been around. My mom and sister were here and it was great. Very busy and kind of crazy having 2 babies around with my kids, but it was wonderful. The kids are so cute. They are gone now. We took them to the airport this morning. I came home and could hardly stand it. They left, hubby is gone. It is depressing. But I did get to talk to L on the phone this afternoon and that was fantastic. He is doing fine. His living conditions are so much better this time than last time. He has a room with a bed and an air conditioner this time. And he said the food is like Thanksgiving every meal. Some positive things anyway.

Well, I have a ton of laundry to do and get the kids bathed before church tonight, so I need to get back to work!

He made it

He made it to his destination. I don't know much more than that. But he made it safely. Thanks for your prayers!!!

It's for real now

Well, he flies out of the country today. Guess that means he really is going. He leaves about 5pm EST. A long flight and then a short one to THE CITY. Pray for a safe trip. I will update once he is there.

We have been talking on the phone LATE every night since he left and that is over now so it is gonna be hard. He called the kids last night and they all talked for a while. He made them all promise to take care of mommy. And to promise that if they get sad they will pray to Jesus to help them. B acted funny for a while after they talked. I think she is really sad and doesn't even know it. She did that the night before he left too--cried and said she didn't even know why. He will be able to call sometime but not much and not for long calls and with the time difference it can be very hard to actually talk to the kids. Hopefully our webcams will work this time, we will wait and see.

My mom and sister will be here tonight and we are all excited. We miss them all so much. And we cannot wait to meet the newest baby that we have not seen yet!!

Well I will update when I hear from L. Thank you all!

Tuesday

Another day. I am not counting days, that would be too depressing. I may count weeks though. I can't help it. Today was good. Still able to talk to L. He is leaving sometime Friday. And Friday night Mom and my sister come and that will help A LOT!

I found out today that E's best friend is moving this weekend. They are only moving about 10 or 15 miles away, but still. He was counting on spending a lot of time with him this summer so that stinks. He was less than a mile before, big difference. Plus they were neighbors that I actually knew and they helped me out with babysitting K once. I will be needing someone to help me when the kids get their ear tubes put in and I don't have any idea what to do about that yet. We will see when the time comes. God always works it all out for me!

AK sent me a nice email about the picture of L and me. I love the picture--which is a miracle. L took it himself and I think it is very sweet. We took a lot of pics before he left since we never take any of ourselves usually.

Time to call my hubby, just wanted to check in. Thank you to all of you who are keeping track of us and praying!!

all is fine

Yes, all is fine here. He is in Georgia right now. Some processing stuff. Won't leave there until Friday. At least now we are able to talk every day. We are all ok here. The kids are doing fine. So far it is not any different than him just going somewhere for a few days. Later, will probably be different but they are fine now.

Me too. I am thankful he did not go straight "over there". I like being able to talk on the phone this week. Ease into it, I guess. I am doing my best to trust God. I do, but the devil likes to mess with us all and this is a good time for him. But I trust that God will take care of all of us while we are apart and bring us back together safely. I am trying to rest in the peace of God and have faith that this will all work out for good. It certainly did last time. God knows best, his plans are better than mine. I do need to remind myself of that daily--several times, but I DO know it in my heart.

Mom and my sister (and the babies!) are coming to visit. They will be here Friday. They will stay about 9 days. That will be so nice. And it will be good for them to be here when L is least able to call me. I am sure it will take a few days for him to settle in and hopefully get an international cell phone.

Please keep praying for L. For safe travel, and safety once he gets there. I do my best not to worry but praying can always help. Some verses from church last night were perfect. "He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him" Psalm 91:15 and also Isaiah 65:24 "Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear."

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. Thank you so much Amy!!! God bless you all!

It's Saturday

I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,

the Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalm 121 1-2

more..

But I trust in you, O Lord:
I say, "You are my God."
My times are in your hands:
deliver me from my enemies
and from those who pursue me.
Let your face shine on your servant;
save me in your unfailing love.

Psalm 31: 14-16
