Where have I been??

I bet some of you thought I have dropped off the world since Luke came back. Well I am still here. Of course it was really busy while he was home and the time flew by. And since he left I have gone from being busy to being lazy and generally not wanting to blog. Well, that isn't exactly true. I have been too lazy to get all of the pictures off of our two different cameras and sort through them.

Finally I have done it. So I thought I would show you what has been going on here since I deserted the blog. I had to do it in two different posts because of all the pictures. Because I know all the grandmas care about is the pictures.

First a couple of days before Luke got here, I had a surprise in the kitchen. Do you know what it is? You can click on the picture to enlarge it for a better look.

It was my first scorpion. In this picture he has already been smashed with a shoe. No way am I crazy enough to take a picture first. Those things are fast and I did not want him to get away.

One night I had just gotten into bed when I remembered to go back and turn on the dishwasher. The house was all dark. As I got to the edge of the kitchen I saw something move in the floor and I though maybe it was a spider. I almost stepped on it before I decided to turn on the light. I freaked out. I was warned about scorpions as soon as some people heard I was coming to Texas but this was my first sighting. I sincerely thank God for Him letting me see it and not step on it. I had to hit it three times with the shoe before it died. It went out fighting, trying to sting the shoe. I was scared to death of it!! I pray I don't see another one ever--at least not inside my house!!!

Then the day Luke got home, the kids had eye doctor appointments. Someone got glasses. She looks really cute though, doesn't she?

Then K had her school Christmas program. I love this small town school. They actually sung Christian Christmas songs, like Go Tell It on the Mountain.

There was also an anniversary. Twenty Years.

Then we had a birthday.

He got exactly what he asked for.

And among all the other excitement, there was lots of cuddling with Daddy.

We were all really glad he was here for all the big stuff. Mostly we were just glad he was here.

Glad you didn't drop off the earth...was wondering where you might be...we just thought you might have been "blogged down" ya know. Really great pics. B looks a little sophisticated with her new specs...I like the picture of L and B together...that's sweet. As for the scorpion...YIKES...that woulda been a good time to say that verse out of the Bible...Luke 10:19 Behold I give unto you Power to TREAD upon serpents and SCORPIONS and over ALL the power of the enemy! That verse sure gives your experience a new meaning doesn't it?LOL...seriously...soooo glad you "saw the light" before you treaded on the scorpion...i wouldn't like a snake or a scorpion. Well remember that verse next time ya see one...hopefully there won't be a 2nd time. Glad ya'll had a good Christmas...and that is was special. We have to keep believing that all will be fine in 2009! With God it will be! Well sooooo glad to hear from you again...hope your real family doesn't mind that I gave a comment first...but couldn't help it. I'm sure your Mamaw P. will be very happy to see the pictures and relieved. We as the blogger nation are very glad to have you back...great pictures...for now I'm signing off...

Wow - you've been busy! We have tons of scorpions and Phoenix...so many that we shake our shoes (that have been outside) before putting them on our feet. Those little guys scare me to death!
