Moods

K was in a bad mood this morning. She had been doing so much better in the mornings. For months, she was waking up so mean I could not stand it. She was not getting enough sleep so we worked on that, along with putting smiley faces or frowns on her calendar every day depending on how she acted when she got up. I don't know what happened but yesterday was a definite frown and so was today. Today I threatened her with having to stay home if she kept being hateful.

She always loves to go to school, but today is book character day. I am so bad about not being very creative when they do stuff like that at school. Her favorite book right now is called Pinkalicious, it is about a little girl who turns completely pink after eating too many pink cupcakes. So she is Pinkalicious today. Pink dress, pink crown, pink wand, and the pictures don't show it, but a pink face (using play makeup) and a strand of pink hair (I told her her own hair is close enough to pink). Pinkalicious also wears wings for some reason but we skipped that.

When I wanted to take a picture I actually got a smile out of her.

But you can see she still isn't very happy. She is always in a better mood once she gets to school. I am glad about that for her teacher's sake!

Since I had the camera out I tried to take a picture of the moon when I got back from the bus stop. It was huge and orange out to the west. It looked like the sun going down. My picture taking skills stink though because this is the best I got. Look it's a UFO in there!

After my bad mood morning I decided to go sit on the porch and watch the sun come up while I drank my coffee. I felt like my mom. It was chilly so I wore a jacket and took a blanket (it was about 60 degrees--it is getting up to 85 today!) and I also took the camera.

I never actually got to see the sun. There were clouds rolling by so fast I was amazed. Sitting on my porch definitely helps a bad mood for me. You know I love my view. But watching the sky and clouds and thinking about the awesomeness of God is a wonderful way to start the morning. I will have to do it this weekend and take K with me!

You see that? I mowed the grass yesterday!
